Spinclusion Accepts the Human Rights Award

Diane Haupt

December 12, 2024

The Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission (VBHRC) held its 29th Annual

Human Rights Awards Ceremony on Thursday, December 12, 2024. The ceremony

honored individuals and organizations in our community and their impactful work that

has promoted inclusion, social awareness, equal opportunity, and human rights.

Founder, Diane Haupt, accepted the award with gratitude and humility on behalf of

everyone who has been a part of Spinclusion - our dedicated volunteers, our generous

donors, our countless community partners, and our remarkable riders who inspire us

every day.

Thank you to Ginger Jenkot for the nomination and the VBHRC for the award

recognizing our mission and the right to mobility, the right to participate in society, and

the right to enjoy life, all fundamental to our humanity.

At Spinclusion, we strive to uphold these rights for our riders, ensuring that no one is left behind because of age or ability. Our bicycle rides are not just about physical activity, they are about connection, joy, and the celebration of life. This reward fuels our commitment to making a difference, one ride at a time.

Congratulations to all the other recipients!
